A few years ago, while I was doing business in the Czech Republic, I came to know quite a lot of cultural values and daily habits among the Czechs. Some may be different from people in my own country but there are some which are similar too. For example, Czech people prefer to walk from one place to another unless the destination is far. Unlike my home country, people would rather drive even if it was within 5 minutes of walking distance. I think this is probably the main reason why the air in the Czech Republic was much fresher and cleaner compared to where I came from.

Nonetheless, there are a number of similarities between the two countries. Some of you might find this shocking but I discovered that most Czech citizens are more inclined into using the sms service. Sms otherwise known as short messaging service is widely popular in my home country too as people find it more convenient to convey messages to the recipient. Besides, a simple message only cost a few cents which is definitely cheaper than making calls. However, the best thing about sms-ing in the Czech Republic is that certain companies provide free sms service to their subscribers.

The most famous company which offers this service is sms zdarma. This company allows subscribers to send text messages to their friends and family members who use the same service as they are. I guess this is why I often notice Czech people having their eyes glued to their mobile phones while their fingers are keying away. This is also very often observable in my own home country.

In conclusion, the two countries may be divided by thousands of miles in land space but they do share a number of, some would say odd similarities.

About two years ago, I was stationed in Czech Republic by my company to help out at their local base in Prague. My job scope involved logistics, time – cost analysis and some customer feedback service. The area where my job took me was very different from where I came from. There were not many cars as locations were usually within safe walking distance. The local people over there were also very friendly and they always helped me out whenever I had trouble navigating around the city.Besides that, working hours here in was different as workers usually end work at 4pm, local time and most of the shops closed before 6pm. This is the total opposite from where I came from where work ends at 6-7 pm and shops close at midnight!

Anyway, while I was at work one day, my laptop suddenly went bonkers and refused to startup. As I needed to use it immediately because I was expecting a few emails from some very important customers, I thought it would be wise to send it to a local repair shop. The computer repair centers here are referred to as servis pc center. I then described my problems to the attendant and he went about taking notes while I was explaining. He told me he will send it to their in-house technician to do a complete checkup before deciding on the next course of action.

And after about 4 hours, I received a call from the attendant telling me that my laptop has been repaired and the fault was caused by a malfunction hard drive which he had replaced. I immediately made my way to the servis pc center to claim my laptop. The Hard Rock Hotel offers rooms and suites. If money is no problem, you might want to try the Penthouse. It has three large bedrooms, a dining table that seats 12, and the lounge has a stocked bar and pool table. If you need a room that is a bit more affordable, the guest rooms are quite spacious. Each room has French doors that offer views of the pool or the mountains.

Personally I don't mind staying just one or two hotels off the strip, because who stays in their hotel room anyway? If you opt for a hotel just right off the strip, I think the Westin offers great deals and rates. Their rooms are designed for busines travelers and the beds are extra comfortable. One other huge factor is that the lobby is not huge, you can walk right in and go to the elevator bank which is a huge time savings, especially if you've ever walked all the way through the MGM Grand!
